HID iClass Enhancements

HID Global, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions visited ColorID headquarters this week for training on their latest revision of iClass credentials and physical access wall readers tabbed as iClass SE.  Nathan Cummings, Director of Sales Engineering headed the training at ColorID and spoke about the improvements made for both the credentials and readers.

The latest revision of readers has the ability to read a multitude of contactless card technologies as well as magnetic stripes.  The iClass SE readers have the ability to:

• Read: iClass, HID Prox, Indala, AWID, EM, DESFire, Mifare, Felica, CEPAS, and Magnetic Stripe cardstock.
• Implements a new anti-hacking feature against velocity checking.
• Includes the latest NFC (Near Field Communication) components.

Bi-directional communication to and from the reader and control panel via OSDP, Hi-O or R/W.The iClass SE credential also showcases improved flexibility and more security.

• It's based on an open ecosystem / Secure Identity Object (SIO).
• Created a Trusted Identity Platform (TIP) architecture for advanced applications, mobility and better security.
• Application areas protected by 64-bit diversified read/write keys.
• Mutual authentication with encrypted data transfer.
