 Memorial Day is a US federal holiday wherein the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces are remembered. This day was formerly Decoration Day and originated after the American Civil War to help remember all the soldiers that died during this conflict. By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service.
Memorial Day is important to me because it reminds me of the great sacrifices our men and women of the Armed Services make to defend our way of life. We would like to thank you for your Military service to include civilians whose jobs are in support of our troops. We appreciate all of you and the sacrifices you have made to ensure the United States of America stays a free, peaceful and prosperous nation. Thank You
