Dr. A. Michael Berman

Dr. A. Michael Berman is a consultant to higher education institutions and selected information technology suppliers. He has more than twenty five years of information technology management experience in higher education, with 20+ years as the senior campus technology leader at 5 institutions of higher education. He earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rutgers University and has been a professor, consultant, author, and software developer.

Michael's experience has included serving as Chair, Board of Directors, CENIC; Member, EDUCAUSE Board; and Board of Directors Chair for NMC. He is passionate about promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and greater gender balance in technology and leadership. In 2022, he received the EDUCAUSE Leadership Award, the highest honor offered by that organization.

Michael's expertise is broad and widely recognized, and he has spoken and written on topics including institutional strategy, educational innovation, online marketing, identity management, ERP implementation, cloud strategy, educational technology, IT planning for higher education, 3D Printing, and leadership and management

With over 28 years of extensive experience building, developing, and leading teams across North America, Stephenie is a visionary leader with a profound passion for empowering and enabling teams to achieve excellence, drive innovation, and foster sustainable growth and currently serving as the Vice President of End User Business Development for Physical Access Control at HID, a renowned global leader in security solutions.

Prior to her tenure at HID, Stephenie spearheaded a startup division at ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, specializing in electronic door locks and access systems tailored for the Senior Living market. Beyond her expertise in Access Control, she boasts a diverse background in RTLS, mobile credentials, new construction, and product development.

Stephenie's unwavering commitment lies in cultivating and nurturing high-performing teams and organizations that consistently deliver remarkable outcomes, exceptional service, unwavering dedication, and enduring relationships. Her proficiencies encompass sales management, dynamic public speaking, strategic planning, and the art of team building.

Stephenie Haldane

Wayne Fields

A collaborative leader who creates value for his clients. Wayne has centered his reputation around solving either time-critical or entrenched challenges. As a technology subject matter expert, Wayne can re-imagine solutions through process or technology improvement, allowing for a more effective delivery of core services. Wayne is currently serving as the Assistant Director for Student Affairs IT at UC Irvine. He has worked on many highly visible and complex campus projects including the launch of one of the nation’s first competitive university Esports arenas. Wayne completely re-architected the UCI Campus Card program from the ground up implementing best of breed technology and methodology along the way. He continues to break down data silos to help facilitate UCI’s data driven student success initiative.

Wayne has been recognized multiple times for his outstanding leadership, including the UCI 2020 Excellence in Leadership Award for Overall Achievement, and he was awarded the NACCU 2022 New Professional Award for his work in the campus card industry. Wayne continues to be sought after for his knowledge and analysis ability.

Wayne has spent over 40 years in the technology field, with the last 10 years in Higher Education. He holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – High Technology Management from California State University San Marcos.

ColorID was founded in 1999 by Gary Smith and Danny Smith (unrelated) in Charlotte, North Carolina. Prior to ColorID, Danny had built a network of financial service agencies for educational institutions. Since then, Danny has been devoted to helping grow ColorID into one of the world’s leading providers of identification management solutions, technologies, and services.

Among other responsibilities, Danny is actively involved with ColorID’s Higher Education strategies and initiatives. Having visited hundreds of colleges and universities across the globe, Danny has been directly involved in helping institutions create a future forward campus identity roadmap, unifying multiple credential modalities (contactless, mobile, biometrics, etc.) and enhancing student services, security, and user experiences. He has been a regular attendee of higher education conferences in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South and North America where he shares his knowledge of emerging, global campus identity technologies and trends.

Danny Smith

Todd Brooks

Todd Brooks is the Vice President of Products and Technologies at ColorID, where he has worked for over 11 years. During his time with the company, he has played a key role in helping universities and institutions transition to advanced identification technologies.

This includes implementing contactless smart cards, mobile credentials, identity management, and biometric systems to enhance security and efficiency. Todd's expertise has been instrumental in shaping ColorID's leadership in the identification technology sector. His ongoing efforts continue to drive the company's advancements in identification technology integration.

Since joining ColorID in 2005, David Stallsmith has worked work closely with manufacturers, vendors, and end users to promote understanding of the complicated products and services that comprise the identification industry. He has contributed to the decision-making process at many universities, health care facilities and government agencies as they considered acquiring contactless, smart card, mobile ID and biometric systems. Voted Presenter of the Year at the 2023 ECCA Conference in Warsaw (European Campus Card Association), David has also presented annually at the National Association of Campus Card Users conferences in the USA and Canada, NACAS annual and Leadership conferences, and full-day Identity Summits hosted by prominent universities.
